Chef Anthony gives a lesson in making a traditional mustard-based BBQ sauce.

 

Barbecue sauce holds deep, regional roots throughout the South. North Carolina is home to vinegar-based sauce, while “White Sauce” reigns supreme in parts of Alabama.

But in South Carolina, it is all about the mustard.

Mustard-based barbecue sauce got its start in the Midlands and has become synonymous with the Palmetto State.
