Country music legend Ronnie Milsap comes to IP

Country Music Hall of Famer Ronnie Milsap will bring his greatest hits to Studio A at IP Casino Resort & Spa on Friday, Aug. 4.

Milsap, who saw his biggest success in the 70s and 80s, is known as one of country music’s most influential performers.

He rose to fame with songs like “Pure Love” and “Please Don’t Tell Me How the Story Ends.” His career took off as the decade progressed, with the release of his Grammy Award-winning song, “I’m a Stand By My Woman Man” and the smash hit “It Was Almost Like a Song.”

He achieved cross-over success when he began channeling pop, rock and R&B in his country music, with hits like “Smoky Mountain Rain”, “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me”, “I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World”.

Milsap has won six Grammy Awards, eight Country Music Awards including Entertainer of the Year, and four Academy of Country Music Awards, including the Pioneer Award for his contributions to country music in 2002. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
